Hello again,

People who injure themselves will end up paying for it as they get older. Older people, in particular, are more prone to accidents because they generally lack balance, strength, and flexibility.

The reason older people often feel stiff in the morning is due to a natural part of the aging process. Their muscles and bones aren’t as stable as they once were. This is mainly due to fascia. This is the glue that connects every part of the body together. Fascia binds specific cells into tissues, tissues into organs, and organs into systems. It cements all the internal structures into place and envelopes the entire body. Its main role is to keep your body strong and healthy by allowing you freedom of movement.

When you were younger, the fascia was pliable and flexible. Once you reach the age of 35, you will feel your body start to lose its elasticity. You’ll know when this happens because you feel tautness in places you’ve never expected. , As you continue to become older, you will find that everything becomes worse. Once you give in to the pain and contort your body just to make it feel better, you will find yourself permanently settling into this awkward – and long-term also uncomfortable – position.

Change is in fact a part of life. At age 30, you might feel stiff and achy after a strenuous day beforehand. At 40 the stiffness and pain seem to last longer. At 50 this feeling becomes part of your morning routine. Then, you might think that things could even get worse. Is there a cure for this? Yes, there is. If you take good physical care of yourself, you may be able to get back some of the physical strength and agility you had when you were younger. You really just need to invest in your health through a regular regimen of moderate exercise, stretching, and strength training. You can restore your body’s physical health and, at the same time, protect yourself from future injuries.

Another great option is the spa therapy. This seems to be the latest innovation in home therapy. Adults enjoy the benefits without the hassle of driving to a spa. Of course, this will take a sizable chunk out of your savings. However the therapeutic benefits could not be better. People are now looking into investing in something like this because the equipment involved was designed to improve your body’s health, especially when it is used regularly. The therapeutic tub has an automatic purge system that periodically runs for a few minutes after the bath. This is so that the jets are able to remove diseases from the bacteria-laden water.

Major homebuilders now recognize the importance of a spa, especially in an older person’s home. Many now offer building packages so that the payment scheme is easier on the pocket. Just remember that if you give any importance to your health, you must consider every option available. Whether you choose exercise or the spa, you must prioritize your body above everything else. Your emotional investment plays a vital role here, and whether you choose to invest your time or your money, in addition to your efforts, is all up to you.

Today, almost everyone can and will benefit from Pilates exercises. These programs do not only have amazing health benefits, but they also help patients improve their self-reliance and sense of security. But how did the Pilates exercises get started? During World War I, there were large numbers of wounded soldiers and civilians who needed medical care and attention. Many of the wounded didn’t get the treatment they needed most, because of the wartime surroundings. Out of the obscurity of the German Army appeared a male nurse by the name of Joseph Pilates. He proved to be innovative in his thoughts about patient care, because he developed a specific form of exercise as a means of helping patients make meaningful recovery from injuries. What Joseph Pilates did was to attach weighted springs to the beds of the wounded. The exercise the patients received by moving the weights was sufficient to help the patients’ healing processes, and they recovered faster with the help of this invention, rough though it might have been. This was the birth of the first Pilates equipment; today there are a number of other related devices that are helping patients and enthusiasts receive the benefits of Pilates exercises worldwide.

This exercise program is being used by a large number of physical therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, trainers, and others for standard exercises as well as rehabilitation. The programs have been shown to help improve the student’s balance, posture, and flexibility. All in all, the exercise strengthens the body. Good form is emphasized in the scheme. You are able to strengthen weakened and damaged muscle tissues. The exercises and movements focus on the joints as well. The exercises also help improve the condition of smaller muscle groups that support joints and other bone structures. Balance improves because various muscle areas gain equal strength. In fact, the exercise has long been appreciated by practitioners other than the original usage, dedicated to those suffering from injuries.

The exercises have gained popularity in the past few years. Pilates instructors tend to use very few devices, so you can easily and quickly participate in the Pilates exercises. You are able to tone and strengthen specific parts of your body if you exercise regularly. You don’t really need to worry about spending a fortune on expensive equipment. Aside from your time, you simply need an exercise mat and maybe an exercise outfit or two. If you feel that you need some additional equipment to push yourself more, you can find a Pilates ball and some resistance tools and appreciate the benefits of Pilates even more.

Pilates exercises help strengthen the core of your body. They work to improve muscle condition and tone particularly in your back, stomach and gluteus maximus. If you work on these three areas alone, you will see a big improvement in your entire body. You will be stand and walk easier and be more stable when you are seated as well. Your posture will improve automatically when the central muscles of your body are strengthened and have more flexibility. Once you have made your central body stronger, you will find it easier and more comfortable to sit properly. Pilate’s exercises also help stretch the backbone. You are encouraged to sit and stand correctly. If that sounds familiar, then you have no cause for worry. Doing all these things will come naturally as you become dedicated to the exercise, and you will appreciate the benefits of Pilates even more.

Pilates improves your mind-body connection. In order to successfully perform the exercises, you must set your mind from the very beginning. Breathing properly is important to the Pilates exercises. Breathing properly needs a specific type of focus that is not necessary in most other exercise programs. Pilates exercises have low to no impact for the spine, so almost anyone can participate. Older people do not have to worry about impact on their sore or weakened muscles and joints. The exercises strengthen your muscles and muscle groups and increase your body’s flexibility at the same time. Once you begin Pilates exercises, your body will respond by letting you see the benefits of Pilates in the form of notable improvements that occur in just a short period of time.

We hope you learned enough about Pilates in this article to go give it a try. There are many organisations that support Pilates fans around the world, some non-profit, some for profit. Click here for a list of Pilates teacher organisations in most English-speaking countries and a few others.

Don’t Let Age Get In The Way Of Flatter Abs

Hello again!

Unlike men, women have unique life reasons that can interfere with exercise. Among the reasons are birth of a child, marriage, single parenthood, new job, divorce, job stress, and so much more. Time is a big factor here as well. After a day of work and childcare, most women prefer to spend their free time with family and friends, relaxing, and taking a breather. Although this in no way is claiming that men get the better deal in life, research has shown that women tend to have a harder time managing to exercise on a regular basis.

Women benefit greatly from exercise. When done regularly, they lower their estrogen levels, reduce body fat, and produce a healthier body mass index. When all these factors are combined, women can significantly reduce their risk of breast cancer and other weight-related diseases. Not only that, but they are also effectively extending their natural lifespan, and becoming increasingly attractive and look less… (can we say it?) less old.

As women age and go through the process of child-rearing, their bodies pay the price. Their bellies bulge more and their arms get flabbier. Pregnancy, as beautiful as it is, makes a great impact on the woman’s physicality. As they age, they may want to get back the pre-pregnancy body that they once enjoyed. They work on their abs and tirelessly do stomach crunches during their free time.

However, squeezing in some me-time may not be as easy as it sounds. Thus, they forget their resolution and there goes the trim body.

There are many mistaken beliefs and delusions when it comes to the idea of achieving flat abs. Many associate an exercise for a flat stomach to sit ups and crunches. Although these two are great belly busters, these will not be as effective if you don’t shed and lose some excess body weight beforehand. You simply have to lose weight before you can actually tone your muscle area. What you need to do is to find an exercise that can help flatten your stomach and at the same time help you lose weight. The best way to reduce your belly fat is to engage in either walking or jogging. As you walk briskly, you burn calories and fats. The “old reliable” diet works here, too. There are two versions that we like, one is “Eat half of what you were eating before.” The other version is maybe easier to control: “One plate per sitting and nothing in between meals.”

Exercise to get a flat stomach through aerobic workouts at least three times a week. As your children start going to school, you will find that making time gets easier, if you also set your mind to it. It will also help you boost your metabolism. With just 20 minutes a day, your goal can be achieved in no time.

When starting an exercise program, it is important to remember these very basic principles:

Make sure that you follow the movements precisely or you will end up just working on one group of muscles. Get pictures if you must, and ask help from a reliable source.

Perform all exercises in a controlled manner.

Make sure to do the right breathing. Never hold your breath and remember to inhale as you lower a weight or relax and exhale as you raise a weight or exert. In an abdominal crunch, inhale when coming down and exhale while raising your head and shoulders.

Don’t do too much, too soon. Moderate-intensity activity is going to make you breathe harder, make your heart beat faster, and likely make you sweat more.
